The following events are open to members of the Amherst Center for Senior Services, 370 John James Audubon Parkway. Call 636-3055, ext. 3108 to register.

A book sale began Monday, Nov. 5, in the lobby, and the sale runs through Friday, Nov. 9.

The Williamsville Art Society Holiday Show is taking place from 2 to 4 p.m. beginning Sunday, Nov. 4. There will be awards, silent auctions and refreshments. The show runs through Dec. 26.

A chronic disease self-management workshop will be held Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to noon through Nov. 16.

Amherst Center Camera Club will have a speaker at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, to discuss macro-photography and focus stacking.

Pizza and game night will take place at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Pizza and salad from Johnny’s will be available for a $6 fee. Games will follow. Reservations are needed by Friday, Nov. 9.

A monthly support group for widows and widowers will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the conference room.

A presentation about the Better Business Bureau will be given by AT&T representatives from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Make a reservation by Wednesday, Nov. 7.

A hot dog sale will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8. Hot dogs are available for $1.

A candy making workshop will take place at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. Reservations are needed by Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The center’s Giving Tree is in the library with 75 name tags. Select a name and purchase a gift for one of the 4-year-olds listed. Gifts should be no more than $10. Clothing and used items are discouraged. Place unwrapped gifts in the box next to the tree with the name tag attached. Drop gifts off by Friday, Dec. 7.

Veterans Day lunch is free to all veterans. Make reservations 24 hours in advance. Lunch is served at noon Friday, Nov. 9. There will be patriotic music and a color guard demonstration.

Friday, Nov. 9 — Veterans Day lunch — Baked fish with lemon sauce, parsley potatoes, mixed vegetables, rye bread, orange

Monday, Nov. 12 — Closed

Tuesday, Nov. 13 — Spaghetti and meatballs, grape juice, cauliflower with parsley, Italian bread, lemon ice
