Notice is hereby given of the adoption of a Local Law No. 19-2018, “A Local Law Amending Chapter 175 of the Code of the Town of Amherst To Increase The Income Level For Persons Over 65.” This Local Law was adopted at the Town Board meeting held on October 1, 2018.

This Local Law amended Chapter 175 of the Code of the Town of Amherst, specifically §175-3, to increase the income level for persons over 65 for the real property tax exemption to comport with New York State law.

SERVICES CONTRACTS TOWN OF AMHERST, NEW YORK

The Town of Amherst (Town) is requesting proposals (RFP) from qualified law firms to provide legal services for land use and development issues related to telecommunication facilities (i.e., cell phone towers, small cell installation in public right of way etc.). Using this RFP, the Town intends to establish a pool of attorneys who will be available to provide legal services as needed during the contract term. One or more individual/firms may be selected to provide services. If selected, a retainer agreement will be requested at a compensation rate agreed upon. The subject matter of such litigation includes all aspects of said proceedings. Counsel will have a close working relationship with the Town Attorney’s Office.
