‘Burgers, Brews and Blues’ set for Aug. 14

The Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities will host the third annual “Burgers, Brews and Blues” summer fundraiser, also featuring hot dogs and sausages from Wardynski Meats, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at St. Mary of the Angels, 201 Reist St., Williamsville.

The evening’s activities will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by a gourmet barbecue dinner at 6 p.m. and live music by the Black & Blues Band, with Don Petrino on guitar and lead vocals, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Formed in 2011, the Black & Blues Band is a blues, funk and classic rock cover band, according to the Sisters of St. Francis.

Again this year, 12 Gates Brewing Company will be providing beer at the event. Established in 2015 and located in Williamsville, 12 Gates is an independent, craft-production brewery.

Caputi’s Wine and Liquor Store, which is located on Sheridan Drive in Amherst, will be providing the wine.

The event’s sponsors include The Martin Group, Dopkins & Co., Life Storage, Maid of the Mist, Towne Volkswagen Audi of Buffalo, Kent and Laurie Frey, Carol and the late Reg Newman, Monsignor Michael J. Yunk and Cura Hospitality.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the sisters’ ministries throughout Western New York and beyond.
