Senior News

The following events are open to members of the Amherst Center for Senior Services, 370 John James Audubon Parkway. Call 636-3055, ext. 3108 to register.

“Just Say It!” will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25. Participants can share their thoughts and simply talk freely among their peers. What is discussed in the group will stay in the group.

A University Express Class about the art and social vision of Frank Lloyd Wright will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 25. RSVP at 636-3055, ext. 3108.

An Arounja demonstration will take place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26. Arounja is a specialized online tool that helps people address quality of life issues such as food, shelter, health care, domestic violence, legal assistance and education.

A cooking class will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28. Participants will be making banana split-stuffed strawberries and are asked to bring a container and a tomato corer, if possible. The fee is $5. RSVP by Tuesday, June 26.

Paula’s on the Patio will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 29. Start the morning with a Paula’s doughnut and a cup of coffee. The fee is $2. RSVP by Wednesday, June 27.

Wednesday, June 20 — Sloppy Joe, baked potato, Mexican corn, hamburger roll and diced peaches.

Thursday, June 21 — Hot dogs, baked beans, macaroni salad, corn and fruit.

Friday, June 22 — Stuffed cabbage, mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll and a banana.

Monday, June 25 — Chicken Marsala, chef salad, mixed vegetables, egg noodles and fruited Jell-O.

Tuesday, June 26 — Salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner roll and pineapple tidbits.
