Special village election set for June 19

by HOLLY N. LIPKA Reporter

The Village of Williamsville Board of Trustees will hold a special election on Tuesday, June 19, with Mayor Dan DeLano and Trustee Matt Etu running unopposed for their positions.

The election will be held from noon to 9 p.m. at Village Hall, 5565 Main St., Williamsville.

Each will be elected to a one-year term in order to complete the unexpired terms of their predecessors. Next year, the election will be for four-year terms.

DeLano was appointed mayor in December after former Mayor Brian Kulpa resigned to take his position as Amherst town supervisor.

DeLano has been a village resident for 11 years and is a professional musician and stay-at-home dad. Prior to his mayoral position, De- Lano spent more than six years as a village trustee and more than one year as deputy mayor.

Etu has resided in the village since 2003 and works full time as a civil and structural engineer. He is the former chairperson of the Glen Park Joint Board and has served on the village’s Zoning Board of Appeals and the Traffic and Safety, Picture Main Street and Mixed-Use Zoning Code committees.
