YMCA seeks to meet annual fundraising goal

YMCA Buffalo Niagara is currently seeking the community’s support of its 2018 annual campaign fundraising effort.

This year’s goal is to raise $768,000, which supports the Y’s ability to provide financial assistance to those in the community who are in need.

According to YMCA officials, the success of the campaign plays a vital role in ensuring that no one is turned away from the YMCA due to an inability to pay.

Jared Gross, general chairman of the YMCA’s 2018 campaign, said the organization is thankful for the many who have already supported the cause, which to date, has raised more than 66 percent of its goal. The campaign ends April 12.

Gross said the YMCA is a cause that helps change lives every day.

“As a nonprofit, we’re dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child, improving the nation’s health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors,” he said.

According to YMCA records, last year, nearly $1.2 million in program support and individual financial assistance made it possible for thousands of youths, individuals and families in need to have a safe place to learn, have fun and build positive social connections, as well as to maintain healthy lifestyles.
