Audrey H. Lipford, former Amherst Bee reporter

Lipford Lipford Audrey H. Lipford, 61, of Buffalo, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017.

Mrs. Lipford was born on Aug. 30, 1956, in Buffalo.

She attended Williamsville North High School and graduated in 1974. She went on to Syracuse University where she received a journalism degree in 1978.

After graduation, she became a reporter for The Amherst Bee for nearly two years. She then worked in the sports department of the Buffalo Courier Express. Following the closure of the paper, she moved to New York City, where she pursued a career in law.

Mrs. Lipford graduated from New York Law School in 1991 and began working as an assistant district attorney in Queens, New York. She eventually transferred to the Manhattan Department of Corrections in 1996, where she continued her career in law.

An avid sports fan, Mrs. Lipford was a season ticket holder of the New York Liberty WNBA team and was a loyal supporter of the New York Knicks and Syracuse Orangemen.

Mrs. Lipford is survived by her husband, Richard Kraus, and two siblings, Benita and Jacqueline.

Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home Inc., 995 Genesee St., Buffalo. A wake will be held at noon Friday, Dec. 8, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at St. Luke African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, 314 East Ferry St., Buffalo.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Western New York.
