Chamber’s ‘Lunch and Learn’ program set for Aug. 15

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce will hold its next Lunch and Learn from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at its offices, 400 Essjay Road, Suite 150, Amherst.

The topic of the event will be the fiduciary rule, which the Department of Labor implemented on June 9.

According to a press release, the rule elevates all financial professionals who work with retirement plans or provide retirement planning advice to the level of a fiduciary.

A fiduciary is bound legally and ethically to represent the best interests of the client and to put the client’s interests above his or her own.

Allen Dembski of Buffalo First Wealth Management will lead the event and will discuss how the rule can impact 401K programs, retirement plans, employee stock ownership plans and other programs.

Registration costs $10 and includes lunch.
