Hilbert College names new board members

Peg Adams, Laurie Boreanaz Carra, Philip Perna, Steven Vanuga and Lamont Williams have been named to the Hilbert College Board of Trustees. Hilbert also elected the following board officers: chairman, Michael J. Sendor, retired president of Nussbaumer & Clarke Inc; vice chairman, the Rev. Michael Sajda, president of St. Francis High School; and secretary, Jill Meyer, human resources director for Baillie Lumber Co. Family Day, Resource Fair set for Aug. 18

Niagara County residents are invited to a free Family Day and Resource Fair from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at the New York State Power Authority, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston. The event is sponsored by Niagara County Community College’s Library Partnerships Program, Every Person Influences Children and the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers Inc. There will be free Chiavetta’s chicken dinners for the first 50 adults and free pizza and chips for children younger than 12. Undergrounds Coffee reaches first anniversary

On Sunday, Aug. 13, Undergrounds Coffee House & Roastery, located at 580 South Park Ave., Buffalo, will celebrate its one-year anniversary. The event will include a vendor fair from 9 a.m. to noon, with vendors to include Silver Thistle Jewelry, Snowy Owl Kombucha, Kupkates, Erin Morris Photography and Buffalo Distillery. Coffee tastings will be offered by The Bean Bastard and Alan Hayes Home Roast as well as Underg rounds.
