Glen Park Art Festival set for July 29-30

The eighth annual Glen Park Art Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 29, and Sunday, July 30, along Glen Avenue near Mill Street, behind Glen Park and the Williamsville Water Mill.

The event begins with a free concert by Serendipity Swing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 28. People who wish to attend are encouraged to bring a chair to sit and view the performance.

The festival started eight years ago with just 15 artists; this year, organizers are expecting about 135 vendors.

The event is organized by Sharon Rich, chairperson of the Village Arts and Culture Committee, as well as her husband, Dick Rich, and Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa.

The festival features paintings, jewelry, crafts and art objects from a variety of local artists. There are also food stands from Williamsville restaurants, live music and dancing on the Town of Amherst stage, strolling entertainers, and games for children. In addition, students from area high schools will have their artwork displayed.

The event is sponsored by the Village of Williamsville, Town of Amherst and the Williamsville Business Association.
