Theresa Special, consignment shop owner

Special Special Theresa Special (nee Licata), 80, of Williamsville, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2011.

Mrs. Special was born in Buffalo and graduated from Holy Angels Academy and Chalmers Business School.

She was the president of Acme Plumbing in the 1970s and owned and operated Terry’s Thrift Shop, a consignment store, for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Special was a member of the Cystic Fibrosis Association and the Amherst Senior Center.

She was also a previous chairperson of the Boys Town of Italy Fashion Show.

Mrs. Special is survived by two sons, Joseph and James; one daughter, JoAnn; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Lou Provino and Rosalind Gervase.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard S.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Jan. 16, at St. Benedict’s Church, with arrangements made by Amigone Funeral Home.
