Amherst 'Color Clash' Day scheduled

Town of Amherst students in grades 7-12 will have the opportunity to compete for their "Color Clash" team. It will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Clearfield Recreation Center, 730 Hopkins Road. The cost is $5 per student. Clare Bridge to host farm animal petting zoo

Clare Bridge, an assisted living community for individuals with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, is hosting its second annual farm animal petting zoo from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at 6076 Main St.

La Leche League meeting set

La Leche League of Amherst will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, in the office of Family Chiropractic, 4017 Harlem Road. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and their babies are invited to attend. Call Cindy at 308-4843.

Summer concerts announced at ElderWood

Neighbors are welcome to join residents, families and staff at ElderWood Health Care at Healthwood for the summer concert series. Concerts will be held at 7 p.m. every Wednesday through the end of August at 815 Hopkins Road. The band Nandor will perform on July 8.

Parachute Group slates session

The Parachute Group, a networking group for individuals in career transition, meets at 10 a.m. every Wednesday at the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Community Room 1. Call 276-1117 .

Delta Sonic schedules blood drive

Delta Sonic, at 4983 Transit Road, will hold a blood drive from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9. The community is encouraged to stop out and donate blood that will help the many patients in need at local hospitals.

Parkinson's Support Group meeting slated

The Parkinson Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Temple Beth Am, 4669 Sheridan Drive. "Dance for Health, Dance for Joy, Dance for Life" will be led by dance instructor Kristen Bernas. Call 689-1559.

The Doerfels to perform at Old Home Days

The Doerfels, a traveling 12-member family bluegrass band, will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at Old Home Days in Island Park, behind Village Hall, 5565 Main St.

La Marimba to perform at Farmers Market

At this weekend's Farmers Market, musical guest La Marimba will perform from 10 a.m. to noon. The children's event will be conducted by Karen Peppas from 10 a.m to noon. The Farmers Market is held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Oct. 31 in front of the mill, at 56 E. Spring St.

Recovery International support group planned

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church hosts Recovery International meetings from 1 to 3 p.m. every Saturday for those who struggle with anger, panic, anxiety, depression, obsessions, compulsions or phobias. The church is located at 4007 Main St. in Eggertsville. Call 826-0969.

Williamsville North Class of '89 reunion set

Williamsv ille' of '69 seeks usable bikes

The Williamsville High School Class of 1969 is seeking used but usable bikes for a collection to be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 11. Autism Society and AMC host sensory-friendly film

AMC Entertainment and the Autism Society have teamed up to host films for families affected by autism and other disabilities in a safe and accepting environment. Summer Nordic walking  classes slated

Forward Fitness will offer Nordic walking classes at the Amherst Bike Path at Maple and North Forest roads. Classes will meet every Tuesday in July and August at 6:30 p.m. under the gazebo. Nordic walking uses two specially designed poles to work the upper body Call 639-0566.
