St. Benedict's boys hoops wins Christmas tourney

The St. Benedict's varsity boys basketball team recently won the St. Benedict's Christmas Tournament. St. Benedict's boys varsity basketball team won the St. Benedict's Christmas Tournament with wins over Mt. St. Joe's and St. Mark's last week.

In the opening game, Frankie DiVito and Jimmy Croglio led the Tigers with eight points each, and stellar defense by Marc DiLeo and Dylan Blujus helped St. Benedict's jump out to a 21-10 halftime lead.

Big buckets by Colin Tenney and Bobby Graczyk in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the Tigers.

In the championship game, Matt MacDonald led St. Benedict's with 18 points and Jamal Davis scored nine, while Denzel Benton added eight in the 35-17 victory. Brendan Tenney and Patrick MacDonald each had seven rebounds in the victory.

The two victories improve the Tigers' record to 13-1.
