Father escorts bride in afternoon ceremony

Mr. and Mrs. Eli J. Mayer Mr. and Mrs. Eli J. Mayer Andrea Louise Rydzewski married Eli Joseph Mayer in an afternoon ceremony on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at St. Joseph Cathedral in Buffalo. Monsignor David Slubecky officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Carol and Michael Rydzewski of Angola. The groom is the son of Madalyn and Jerome Mayer of Depew.

The bride was escorted by her father.

She wore a strapless ivory gown with a detailed bodice of pearls and beaded lace, a princess-cut skirt and a long train. She wore a fingertip-length veil. Her bouquet of white calla lilies, red and white roses and ivy was wrapped in hosta leaves from her parents' garden.

The matron of honor was Desiree Weppner, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Theresa Uliaszek, sister of the bride; Scheris Rydzewski, sister-in-law of the bride; and Ann Marie Bielefeld, friend of the bride.

The flower girls were Gabriella and Ayliza Rydzewski and Jamie Uliaszek, nieces of the bride.

The best man was Darryl Herr, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Richard Rydzewski, brother of the bride, and William Drew and Brian Shiner, friends of the groom. The ushers were Robert and Michael Rydzewski Jr., brothers of the bride, and Steve Oppenheimer, brother-in-law of the bride.

The ring bearers were Riley and Drew Weppner, nephews of the bride.

A reception was held at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew. The couple are at home in Depew.
