‘Stone’s Buddies’ to benefit from Kaufmann’s sales event

A foundation that honors the life and courage of a young medical patient will benefit from a unique shopping experience next month.

Women & Children’s Hospital of Buffalo and Kaufmann’s Walden Galleria store have teamed up to support “Stone’s Buddies.”

The event is planned for 6-11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 at the store. A $100 gift card purchase entitles shoppers to $100 worth of merchandise, admission to a private shopping event, free gift wrap, food, wine, entertainment and prizes.

A limited amount of gift cards will be sold. Some restrictions apply.

At the age of four, Stone had spent more than half of his life fighting primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET), an aggressive brain tumor that often spreads to the spine. But despite countless tests, surgeries, medications, stressful chemotherapy, and unimaginable pain, the local boy never stopped smiling.

Stone’s life ended shortly after he celebrated his fourth birthday, but his memory continues to create an impact.

The organization brings seriously ill young children and teens who are patients at Women & Children’s Hospital, as well as their family members, into a program that recognizes their courage and provides a network of support to help them cope with their daily lives.

To purchase a gift card, visit the Kaufmann’s Walden Galleria customer service desk or call 684-6267 extension 519.
