— Participants in Pioneer Day Camp, held in July at Amherst’s Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, use pool noodles to construct replica log cabins. The children used 300 of the noodles for the project. The weeklong summer camp, for ages 6 to 13, offers children an immersive historical and educational experience. BNHV, located on Tonawanda Creek Road in Amherst, also offers other educational experiences for children and adults throughout the year.
