Farmers Market to open 10th season on May 20

The Williamsville Farmers Market is preparing for its 10th anniversary this year, with Mill Plaza on East Spring Street as its permanent venue.

According to Ellie Grenauer, organizer of the Farmers Market, she and the market organizers are looking forward to the new season, which begins Saturday, May 20. The market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 28.

She said the season will include the addition of Plato Dale Farms, an Arcade-based farm with organic foods.

Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa said the market is “better suited” to be located in front of the mill.

“It’s where the market was traditionally, and we are happy to have it back there,” he said. “ Having [the market] at Island Park was nice, but it may have lost some of its community flair over there.”

Further information about the Farmers Market, including a list of participating vendors, is available on its website, www.williamsvillefarmersmarket.com.
