Chamber to host annual business showcase

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce will host its fourth annual Small Business Showcase from 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday, May 19, at Samuel’s Grande Manor, 8750 Main St., Clarence.

“May is National Small Business month,” Chamber CEO Colleen DiPirro said in a press release. “The Small Business Showcase features over 40 firms who will be selling products and/or presenting information about their services.”

She added in the release that the showcase is “especially valuable to the small business community, which faces significant competition from the Internet.

“Supporting local business is supporting your community,” DiPirro said. “Local businesses hire local, they purchase buildings or rent space, and return capital to their neighborhoods.”

According to the release, last year the Chamber had to move the showcase to a larger room to allow for the continued growth of participation and attendance at the event.

Immediately following the Showcase, the Chamber will honor seven small businesses and/or individuals who continue to support the prosperity of the Buffalo Niagara region through their success and community support.

There is no cost to attend the showcase. Anyone interested in attending the awards luncheon may purchase individual tickets for $40 each, as well as corporate tables of 10 for $425. Additional details are available at www.amherst.org or by calling the Amherst Chamber of Commerce at 632-6905.
