Choral group moves rehearsals to Amherst
The Niagara Frontier Chord Authority, established in 1987 as a chapter of Harmony Inc., has recently moved to a new rehearsal space in Amherst.
When the organization’s previous location in East Aurora could no longer accommodate the group, NFCA was welcomed by the pastor and staff of St. John Lutheran Church, 6540 Main St., Amherst, according to a press release.
The group is now holding weekly rehearsals in the church hall and is looking forward to becoming a part of the community.
The release further stated that in celebration of its new home in Amherst, NFCA is inviting female singers to join the group at its first Monday open rehearsals.
Women of all ages and musical abilities are invited to experience being part of a team of different voices and personalities coming together to learn and create harmony.
This monthly event begins at 7 p.m. Monday, March 6, and will continue to be held at the same time on the first Monday of every month at the church.

According to the press release, NFCA is the only Western New York chapter of Harmony Inc., an international, nonprofit organization with a purpose of empowering all women through education, friendship and a cappella singing.
The group has been the recipient of multiple honors, including the MacIntosh Small Chorus Award and the Rising Star Award.
Since November 2012, NFCA has ranked at the medalist level at Harmony Inc.’s International Competition.
The chorus’ repertoire varies from classic tunes to contemporary songs, and members enjoy sharing their love of music with audiences of all sizes.
