Greater Buffalo Level 5 girls place fourth at Lucky Stars


The Level 5 girls team from Greater Buffalo Gymnastics captured fourth place at Stroup's Lucky Stars Invitational in Jamestown. The Level 5 girls from Greater Buffalo Gymnastics captured fourth place at Stroup’s Lucky Stars Invitational this past weekend in Jamestown.

The girls competed in two age levels and captured medals and trophies.

Four girls competed in the 9 to 11 age group.

Veronica Fell of Getzville was 11th in the all-around on the strength of placing in three of the four rotations. She earned fifth on balance beam, seventh on uneven bars and 11th on floor exercise.

East Amherst’s Jordan Friend placed 12th in the all-around, also achieving medals in vault (sixth), floor (14th) and beam (14th).

Haley Juenker, also from East Amherst, was 15th in the all-around with a sixth place on bars and 12th on vault.

North Tonawanda’s Ava Wojtaszek was 20th in the all-around, placing 15th on beam.

In the 12 and over group, Domenica Tiburzi finished sixth in all-around, capturing four on beam, fifth on bars and ninth on floor.

Julia Brundin of Tonawanda took seventh in all-around, including fourth on bars, fifth on floor and eighth on beam.

This was the last meet before the state competition at Victors Gym in Rochester. Girls will be representing Greater Buffalo based on qualifying during this year’s meet schedule.
