Town receives funding for Snyder sewer project
The Town has received a $1.28 million grant for the Snyder Sanitary Sewer Overflow Mitigation Project from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
At its Nov. 15 meeting, the Town Board approved the bid for the project to E & R Construction Inc.
Work is scheduled to begin Jan. 1 and will last for approximately five months.
“Due to the grant award, we will now be able to pursue a second project,” Supervisor Barry Weinstein said. “This will help immensely as the town modernizes the sanitary sewer infrastructure in an older section of Amherst.”
Weinstein said he was grateful to the work of the Engineering Department in securing the grant.
“I wish to thank Frank Fanara from our Engineering Department for his leadership role into securing this grant,” he said. “Without his efforts we would not have this award.”
The next Town Board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6 in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 5583 Main St., Williamsville.
