Golden Parachute provides diners with quick meals made to order
“With a few exceptions, it is the original menu it was when we became the owners,” said Tony Palmisano.
Tony and his wife, Judy, purchased the restaurant, at 5735 Main St., near Garrison Road, in 1990. Judy said becoming business owners together was something that had been a goal in their lives.
“This was his dream — to own this place was what we wanted,” she said.
Throughout their tenure as entrepreneurs, Judy said the business has acquired dozens of regular customers that come in the restaurant on a weekly basis.
Food is ordered at the counter and then brought to a patron’s table by either Judy or Tony.
“We believe people should be able to come in, order what they want and be able to leave and get back to their day quickly,” Tony said. “People shouldn’t have to wait for their food.”
Judy said many of the customers have been coming to the restaurant since it opened.
“It’s because we keep a consistent product,” she said. “Everything is homemade and made to order. We have healthy choices and we keep our prices reasonable.”
Items on the menu include soups, chili, grilled sandwiches and vegetarian options, such as salads.
“We supplement the menu with our daily specials,” Judy said.
The specials include grilled chicken wraps; meatloaf; a roast turkey and bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich; as well as a house salad.
While the restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, The Golden Parachute also provides catering services.
“We do corporate catering with many clients and also private clients,” Judy said.
The restaurant offers abundant catering options. Clients are able to choose between breakfast, lunch and dinner meals. Judy said
The Golden Parachute provides private breakfasts, dinner meetings, bridal showers and other events inside the restaurant.
“The restaurant is also available in the evening after hours for such things as small office parties,” Tony said. “We can seat approximately 35 to 40 people.”
Judy said she is thankful to the regular customers who have been loyal to the The Golden Parachute’s food service since she and Tony became the owners.
“We would like to thank our many clients who have helped us survive a few recessions, some major construction on Main Street, and some health challenges which we have bounced back from,” Judy said. “We hope to continue for several more years thanks to all of you.”
