Do not name village on town memorial

As a resident of Snyder and Amherst, I strongly object to the proposed sign for the new Amherst State Park Veterans Memorial. The sign in the artist’s rendering reads: “Amherst & Williamsville ...” The Town of Amherst is one town.

Why does Williamsville get special preference on a town memorial, in a state park? Why not name it Amherst & Snyder? or Amherst & Eggertsville?

Is it because Williamsvillagers are special, or braver, or richer, or smarter or more egocentric? The name of the memorial should be renamed, simply, “Amherst Veterans Memorial.” The Village of Williamsville should not get special notice on this town memorial.
