East swim team loses close meet

Williamsville East lost their first boys swim of the season, 95-90, to Lancaster Dec. 15 at Transit Middle School.

The 200 medley relay of Kevin Fan, Bo Kim, Adam Dorobiala and Kevin Turner won in 1 minute, 49.14 seconds.

East swept the 200-yard freestyle — Thomas Mitchell (2:00.16), Marc Ruszaj (2:01.33) and Huibo Guam (personal best 2:03.99).

East also took 1-2 in the 500 free — Mike Anderson (5:16.15) and Ruszaj (personal best 5:21.51) and 200 individual medley — Kim (2:09.25) and Fan.

James Jiang won the 100 breast in 1:05.33.

East responded from the loss with a 69-32 win last Friday at West Seneca West. East received first-place finishes from Kim in the 100 free (53.63) and 200 free (1:58.15), Jiang in the 200 IM (2:15.75), Turner in the 500 free (5:48.51) and Guam in the 100 back (1:04.25).

The Lady Flames (2-1) hosted Clarence Tuesday, but the result was unavailable before The Bee went to press.
