Police offer boyfriend advice

Friday, April 10

• A resident on Sunmist Square complained that a woman in his apartment was jumping up and down. The police advised.

• A loud party on North Forest Road refused to quiet down after a source reported the noise. Everyone attending the "adult" birthday party was advised to quiet down.

• Four cars were reported on the side of the road on Millersport Highway. The police assisted the cars that were out of gas.

• A 48-year-old man on Meyer Road was reportedly acting irate and wanting to purchase a gun and bulletproof vest. He was also asking how to make bullets.

Saturday, April 11

• A resident on Copper Heights called the police to complain that eggs were thrown at his picture window. The complainant did not wish to see police but wanted officers to check the area.

• A suitcase was reported lying in the middle of Sheridan Drive east of Mill Street.

• A resident on North French Road accidently called 911, apparently while teaching her child how to dial the number. Police reported no problem.

Sunday, April 12

• Police responded to a caller on Interstate 990 who was experiencing minor cuts after a bird flew through the window of the car. The caller refused first aid.

• A woman on Danebrock Drive called police looking for her boyfriend because he has a new girlfriend. Police advised that her boyfriend is "moving on" and the situation is not a police matter.

• A resident called police about people sitting in a Mercedes who appeared to be having a dispute concerning a gift card or credit card.

Monday, April 13

• Ten to 12 youths were reported on Glenhaven Drive screaming and clapping as cars drove by.

• Police received six phone calls from an unknown inmate at the Erie County Holding Center "just looking for advice."

• A resident on Farber Lakes Drive reported an injured goose that had been hit by a car. The goose had a broken leg but could still fly.

Tuesday, April 14

• Police advised an Allenhurst Drive man regarding bicycle safety. He was wearing all black clothing and riding a bike with insufficient reflectors.

• A resident of Niagara Falls Boulevard reported that someone had spray painted his Jeep, parked overnight in his driveway. The caller thinks the perpetrator could be a neighbor.

• Police advised 15 youths to leave a parking lot on Main Street after a caller had asked them to leave and they refused.

• A protestor outside a pet store on Sheridan Drive called police after an adjacent business's employee took his sign and destroyed it. The man did not want to prosecute but wanted restitution for the damaged sign. The employee gave him $20 and apologized.

Wednesday, April 15

• An employee from North Forest Road reported that youths would go on the roof and damage vents and pipes during the weekends.

• A woman on Hollybrook Drive called police after observing three teenage girls in the park smoking and swearing. When the woman asked the teens to stop swearing, one of them got in the complainant's face and began swearing and yelling at her in front of the woman's daughter. The caller did not want to see an officer, and the teens were no longer on location when police responded.

• Police reminded about 10 youths hanging out in the gazebo area at a park on Main Street about inline skating safety and the rules of the park for the summer season.

Thursday, April 16

• A woman on Hopkins Road called police to complain about a neighbor's dog that chases her child. The woman reported that the dog climbs over a 5-foot fence and gets out. Police advised the dog owner, who said the problem will be corrected.

• A caller on Berryman Drive reported a "squirrel acting strange."

• A resident of Ridgewood Drive reported that someone's pet parrot was in a tree. Police contacted the owner, who had reported the parrot missing.

• About 10 minutes after police advised a party on Grandview Drive to quiet down, officers were contacted again about the loud music.
