Man asks if it's OK to shoot neighbor's dog Friday, Feb. 27 • A woman reported to police that a friend was posting degrading pictures of her on the Internet and refusing to take them down. • A Denrose Drive resident reported receiving a package that he believed contained a check that he was supposed to cash and then forward the money somewhere else. He was advised to return the package to the sender. • A car fire was reported in the middle of the roadway on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The actual car wasn't on fire, but a box or paper bag that had been driven over had caught on the muffler and burned. • An intoxicated shoplifter was taken into custody at a Maple Road store for stealing a 30-pack of beer. Total calls received: 183 Saturday, Feb. 28 • A woman called police saying she had been trying to reach her boyfriend all day and couldn't. She was concerned because he has a history of medical problems. The party was located and was fine. He was trying to sleep. • Police were called to the Boulevard Mall for a missing 4-year-old girl. The child was found sleeping. Total calls received: 145 Sunday, March 1 • A man reported that cash was missing from the top of his dresser, which had been left out during a real estate open house on Mc- Nair Road. • A Casey Road resident wanted advice about the neighbor's dog. The complainant wanted to know if it was OK to hit the dog with a baseball bat or shoot it when it got loose. He was told it was not all right. • A Callodine Avenue resident reported that his bench was thrown into a window of a neighbor's car the night before. • A call for assistance was made from Grover Cleveland Highway after a 28-year-old man walked into a wall and suffered a cut over his eye. Total calls received: 108 Monday, March 2 • An older man was reportedly drinking from a bottle of wine and stumbling while walking to his vehicle in a parking lot on Transit Road. • A dalmatian was found in the laundry room of a hotel on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The animal was taken to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. • A 911 call was placed from a Crown Royal Drive address. A woman reported that everything was fine; a man was upset about an upcoming doctor's appointment. Total calls received: 178 Tuesday, March 3 • A woman complained that another customer at a Sheridan Drive store said something perverted to her about the way she was driving and then smashed a shopping cart into the side of the complainant's car. • Police were called to Sweet Home Road about a person in a clown mask. An area store manager said it was a regular customer who occasionally wears the mask. • Police were asked to be at the Tony Walker Plaza on Main Street for an expected large crowd. An "American Idol" star was making an appearance. • A Kingsway Drive resident complained that an opossum had just been in the yard. Total calls received: 153 Wednesday, March 4 • A house on Maple Road reportedly had bags of animal waste thrown at it. A bag of feces was also left hanging on the Realtor sign on the front lawn. • A man called police asking for assistance in getting a ring back from an ex-fiancee on Saratoga Road. • A Lakewood Parkway resident reported a white powder at the end of her driveway, which she believed was drugs.
