AfterHours becomes area's first urgent-care center to offer appointments

AfterHours Medical Care, Lifetime Health Medical Group's urgent-care service, will now see patients on a same-day appointment basis. AfterHours was previously a walk-in service.

AfterHours Medical Care is the first urgent-care program in Western New York to offer patients a specific time at which to receive care, a policy that significantly reduces wait times.

Patients can now call 656-4040 to reserve a same-day appointment at one of two locations. Lifetime Health offers AfterHours at the Amherst Health Center (1185 Sweet Home Road) and the West Seneca Health Center (120 Gardenville Parkway West).

The appointment line is open Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

AfterHours provides care for minor injuries and illnesses afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays. The service is intended to support a patient's regular primary care at times when his or her doctor's office is closed. All local insurances and many major national plans are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. Individuals do not need to be a regular patient of Lifetime Health to use AfterHours, and a report of the visit is forwarded to the individual's doctor the following day.

For individuals without insurance or in the small number of instances where a specific insurance is not accepted, payment is due at time of service.
