Newlyweds honeymoon in the Caribbean

Laura Elizabeth Wanamaker married Robert William Smith in an afternoon ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at the Erie County Botanical Gardens. The Rev. Nancy Milleville officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara Rupiec of Amherst and Robert Wanamaker Jr. of Newstead. The groom is the son of Samantha Aydt of Hauser, Idaho and the late Gregory Smith.

She wore a white, strapless gown with a beaded bodice and an elbow-length veil and carried a bouquet of white roses and stargazer and calla lilies.

The matron of honor was Christine Sikorski, sister of the bride.

The bridesmaids were Amanda Burbank, sister of the groom, and Joanna Korman, Erica Buschner, Megan Newman, Kate Duso, Kristie Keppler and Nicole Moore, friends of the bride.

The best man was Eric Dietl, friend of the groom.

The ushers were Geoff and Bradley Smith, uncles of the groom; Jacob Burbank, brother-in-law of the groom; Samuel Wanamaker, brother of the bride; James Sikorski, brother-in-law of the bride; and Michael Delong and Casey Mees, friends of the groom.

A reception was held at Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence. The couple are honeymooning in the Turks and Caicos Islands in the Caribbean.
