David J. Culligan, former resident, sailor
David J. Culligan, of Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Williamsville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008.

Mr. Culligan was a graduate of Williamsville High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy following graduation and served for 20 years. During his career, he completed 21 tours on six different submarines.

Mr. Culligan enjoyed the outdoors and was an accomplished craftsman.

He is the son of the late Malachi and Dorothy Culligan.

Mr. Culligan is survived by his daughters, Tanya Culligan and Teresa Pollock; sons, Brian and Michael; and brothers, Terry and Bruce Sr.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the Browne-Wynne Funeral Home, Cary, N.C. A naval burial at sea will take place at a later date.
