The Siege of Niagara

More than a thousand living history demonstrators, depicting French, British and Native warriors and followers of the armies, will gather at Old Fort Niagara July 4 through 6 to commemorate the 1759 Siege of Niagar a.

The "French & Indian War Encampment" is the historic fort's largest special event of the year, and is also the world's largest annual French & Indian War event.

The visiting public will be able to explore Living History camps, purchase 18th century-style goods from a host of sutlers (vendors to the armies) and witness the daily lives of the soldiers and their dependents. They will also be able to watch or take part in an ongoing series of programs, demonstrations and activities. The highlight of each day will be the huge siege demonstration that takes place at 3 p.m. Visitors are advised to arrive by 1 p.m. to avoid the "battle rush." Activities begin at 9:45 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Old Fort Niagara is located in Youngstown. Admission is $10 for adults (ages 12 and older), $9 for seniors (65 and older), $6 for children (ages 6-12) and free for children under age 6.
