Sports briefs David Grabenstatter used a 9-iron to make a hole in one on the third hole from 90 yards out at Audubon Par-3 Golf Course on May 6. Katelyn Stubbendeck, a Williamsville East graduate and Amherst resident, earned Empire 8 All-Conference Honorable Mention for the St. John Fisher College softball team. Stubbendeck has played in 24 games, including 21 starts for the Cardinals this year. The junior has picked up 13 hits (13 for 59, .220), including one home run, and batted in 10 runs. Joe Kling of Getzville was awarded the Geneseo State College's James E. Divico Memorial Award, presented to the individual on the men's basketball team who displayed courage despite injury and physical limitations during his career. In aiding Geneseo to a 19-8 record in 2008, he was fourth on the team in rebounds (5.2), third in points (10.4), second in assists (3.1) and first in steals (2.8). He is a biology major with designs on attending chiropractic school. Kling is the son of Joe and Loretta Kling of Getzville. Game On Sports, Inc. is accepting teams for its men's and coed slow-pitch softball leagues and men's, women's and coed volleyball leagues. For more information, visit www.game-on-sports.com or call 886-0413. The Hilbert College athletic department recently announced the dates for its 2008 boys' and girls' summer basketball camps. All sessions will run Sunday through Thursday and campers will have the option of staying overnight (resident camper) or commuting (day camper). The girls' camps will be held from June 29-July 3 and from July 13-17, while the boys camps run from July 6-10 and July 20-24. The third annual Olmsted Open 18-hole golf tournament will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Delaware Park Meadows Golf Course, 84 Parkside Ave. and Delaware Park Ring Road, Buffalo. The tournament will have a shotgun start and be in a scramble format. The cost is $90 per golfer.
