'Major' Indians post victories The Connie Mack "Major" Indians won their first three games of the season. Indians 14, Yankees 13 The Yankees led, 8-0, after the second inning. In the second, the Indians' Connor Rosenecker singled in two runs and scored another on an error. In the third, Connor Beaudet scored on a line drive home run by Carmen DeAngelo to cut the Yankees' lead to 10-8. In the bottom of the sixth, Connor Rosenecker was hit by a pitch to score Connor Mergler. Dan Rybarcyzk reached on an error, scoring Ben Pope. Rich Banning reached base on a fielder's choice, scoring Cam Rosenecker, Gavin Cummings walked and Carmen DeAngelo hit a deep shot off the fence, scoring Banning and Cummings. Indians 16, Red Sox 7 Trailing 3-0, the Indians answered in the bottom of the first. Gavin Cummings singled home Dan Rybarczyk and Carmen DeAngelo singled in Connor Beaudet. Indians pitchers Connor Rosenecker, Connor Mergler and Carmen DeAngelo allowed three hits and three runs and struck out 11 over the last five innings. Carmen DeAngelo hit a three-run home run in the third inning. In the fourth, Mergler walked to score Cummings, Cam Rosenecker walked to score DeAngelo, Connor Roseneckcer grounded out to score Noah Jones and Dan Rybarczyk doubled to score Mergler and Cam Rosenecker. In the fifth, the Indians' Carmen DeAngelo hit his solo home run. Indians 18, Red Sox 2 Conner Rosenecker had five hits, including a double and two RBIs. Rich Banning had two hits, including a double and a RBI. Connor Beaudet hit four singles. Gavin Cummings made two hits, including a double and an RBI. Carmen DeAngelo recorded three hits and five RBIs, including a home run. Noah Jones posted two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Connor Mergler registered a hit, three RBIs, and two walks. Ben Pope had one hit. Cam Rosenecker had two hits, including a double and three RBIs. Connor Rosenecker struck out five of seven batters in the fifth and sixth. 'Minor' baseball Connie Mack Minor Yankees 14, Central Amherst Cardinals 2 Rightfielder Troy Guarino led the Yankees attack with three hits, three RBIs and also threw out a base runner attempting to reach second base. Starter Zach Walters pitched three solid innings, striking out six and scattering four hits. Relievers Max Koch fanned three batters in 1.2 innings and Spencer Frome fanned the lone batter he faced to end the game. The Yankees were also led by Adam Smolka (two hits, two RBIs), Patrick Stein (two RBIs) and Koch (two RBIs). Jake Fuzak hit a two-run home run for the Cardinals. |
