FBLA students compete at state leadership conference

Amherst High School Future Business Leaders of America members recently competed in the state competition. Members of Amherst High School's Future Business Leaders of America Club competed in the New York State FBLA Leadership Conference held at the Nevele Grande Resort located in Ellenville, N.Y., in April.

Sixty-seven schools and approximately 600 students from across the state competed in various performance, skilled, and written events.

The following students placed in their respective events:

Accounting II- Sam Huoh, second place, (qualifies to compete at nationals) and Scott Krajna, third place; Business Ethics (team event), Scott Krajna, Sam Huoh, and Hao Qin, fourth place; Introduction to Business (grades 7-10), Rebecca Keable, second place (qualifies to compete at nationals); Impromptu Speaking, Harrison Singer, fourth place; and Public Speaking I, Maria Manunta, third place.

Danielle Miller, Alex Rockoff, Amy Simon, Corrin Zaccagnino, Alexandra Zaccagnino and Kai Zhong also competed at the conference.
