Debbie Adams
Board Member
Sweet Home District
As a longtime resident of Sweet Home, I believe in our administrators, our teachers, our students and our families.
For the past 10 years, I have been very active in our district as PTA president, room parent, committee member of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and the Comprehensive District Education Plan, just to name a few. In 2002, I was a recipient of the Donna Simon award. I was chairperson for the middle school theme tray auction for several years, the ice cream social following the variety shows, the jazz band dinners and the taste of Sweet Home.
My goal was to create an atmosphere where families would feel welcome and more involved at school functions. I have also been asked to sit on several interviewing committees including those of middle school principals and our superintendent. I have volunteered in several community activities including our church, the Willow Ridge Civic Association and Scouting.
My husband, Andrew, and I have four boys, three of whom are still attending the high school and middle school. I am self-employed, being the owner of Advanced Custom Embroidery for more than 10 years. My experience in retail business has taught me to be able to work well with people in regard to customer service, employees and vendors. I am directly responsible for obtaining, designing, creating and producing customer orders, placing orders, maintaining inventory, and account receivables and payables, all in a timely manner. My experiences at school, in the community and in business have more than prepared me to work as a team player. I believe that all children are entitled to a quality education, and I would like to ensure that all of our children continue to receive that quality of education at Sweet Home.

My duties in the UAW have afforded me the opportunity to attend several intensive, weeklong leadership conferences at the Walter and May Ruther Family and Education Facility in Black Lake, Mich.
I am an active member of the Working Families Party. I am also a member of the Coalition of Labor Union Women and NAACP Buffalo branch. In 1993, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Canisius College.
In 2005, I completed all requirements for the advanced certificate of labor studies from Cornell. I serve as the president of the Buffalo Labor Studies Student Association for this program.
I also sit on Cornell's labor advisory board. In 2006 I entered the University at Buffalo and began to study for a master's degree in global gender studies. I have successfully completed four courses and am working on a fifth.
Through all these learning experiences, I have learned people need a voice. I have had a desire to make a difference for the working people, and now I feel a need to make a difference in the education of our young people.

I would like to be a voice for you, our children, and our future.
Scott Johnson
Board Member
Sweet Home District
I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your support in my re-election bid. In my two years on the board, I believe that I have made a positive difference in the education of our future, the children of Sweet Home. I have spent many days training and learning to make myself a better board member.
I intend to continue my efforts to provide a top quality education in a fiscally responsible way. Collaboration is a key component to any high-functioning board, and I believe that I possess excellent skills in that area.
No deliberative body will ever agree on every subject, so the ability to work together to find compromises acceptable to all, is a necessity.
I have been very active in the community, including several office positions at three different levels of PTA, local and statewide officer in an engineering organization, and numerous charitable group activities, along with the Glendale Playground Committee.

My six years on the Comprehensive District Education Plan, Professional Learning Communities and Shared Decision Making teams across the district has provided valuable insight to the inner workings of our schools. This knowledge enables me to have more informed discussions and make better decisions.
I am a 1977 graduate of Kenmore West, and I attended Erie Community College and the University at Buffalo for civil engineering. I am currently the information technology manager for the New York State Department of Transportation where I have worked for 24 years.
In closing, I consider it a privilege to work with our children, and hope you will allow me to continue.

Additionally, I am a board member of the New York Association of School Psychologists and am vice president of the Foxberry II board of managers, my condominium association.
I am the only person running for School Board who works daily in a K-12 public education setting and believe that the perspective that I bring with me as a result of that experience will help the board make high quality policy decisions that will help maintain the success of the Williamsville Central School District.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Canisius College and a master's degree in education for educational psychology, as well as an education specialist degree in school psychology, both from Edinboro University. I also have a master's degree in educational leadership from Canisius.
My professional certifications include: New York School Psychologists Provisional Certification, NYS Elementary Teaching Certification, NYS School Psychologists Permanent Certification, NYS School Administrator and Supervisor Permanent Certification, NYS School District Administrator Permanent Certification and NYS School Business Administrator Permanent Certification 2005.

As the only non-incumbent in this race, I really need your help. Please come out on May 20 and vote for me.
Stephen Munschauer
Board Member
Williamsville District
I was raised in Snyder and graduated from Amherst High School. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Vermont and am a business management consultant.
My wife, Cindy, and I have two sons, Charlie, 15, at Williamsville South, and Jeffery, 13, at Mill Middle.
I am very pro-education and take seriously the role the School Board plays in adopting policies and tackling important issues that affect our children, families and community.
I want to see long-range planning kept as an annual board goal. We need to continue to engage in informed dialogue as we address long-range issues facing the district, including enrollment patterns and facilities planning.
As chair of the board's Audit Committee for the past two years, I have become very knowledgeable about the district's budget and the budget process. Because we are receiving larger sales tax revenues from the three-quarter percent Erie County increase, higher gas prices and Canadian shoppers, I continue to advocate for no property tax increases.
I am seeking re-election because I feel that I have invested a tremendous amount of time and education into being a dedicated board member. I want to utilize these acquired skills to continue to work on behalf of our district, our schools, our children and teachers.
I ask for your vote and promise to work extremely hard on everyone's behalf. I am passionate about our children's future and will strongly advocate for quality education, fiscal responsibility and unwavering support of our teachers.

Formerly both the president and vice president of the Board of Education, I am a partner in the law firm of Phillips Lytle LLP and practice in the area of condominium law, representing condominium and homeowners associations in upstate New York.
Having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Syracuse University, a master's degree in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and a law degree from the Syracuse University College of Law, I am seeking re-election to the Board of Education due to my keen interest in assuring the children of the Williamsville Central School District a quality education second to none.
I have lived in the district for more than 44 years, having attended both Mill Middle School and Williamsville South High School. I am proud of the record of the school district for providing quality education to the children of the district. My daughter currently attends Williamsville South High School.
My objective as a board member will be to sustain the fine educational system that the community expects and to do so within the constraints of a reasonable budget. I believe that the board must continue to be vigilant in its efforts to control costs. I understand the importance of, and need for, community support of the budget and will work diligently to achieve a budget that supports the district goals without putting an undue burden on the community. I will continue to work with the other board members toward a shared goal of excellence.

Williamsville District
It has been my honor and privilege to serve on the Williamsville Board of Education for three years. For two years I served on the audit committee that provides fiscal oversight to the internal and external audit process of the Williamsville School District. This experience, along with my knowledge of the district budget process, leadership and fiscal management skills, makes me a strong advocate to continue this work on behalf of the community.
Being raised in Williamsville and a graduate of Williamsville South, I have a vested interest in our community. I am married to Michael for 19 years and our son, William, attends Williamsville North.
I hold a master's degree in social work from the University at Buffalo and have more than 20 years of fiscal management, grant writing and lobbying experience. I was responsible for administering the budget of one of the largest intergenerational centers in Western New York. I was appointed to the Erie County Youth Services Board that is responsible for allocating monies to the youth programs in Erie County. I was past president of the PTSA for Heim Middle and former treasurer for the Williamsville PTSA Council.
I support public education and want to ensure that Williamsville continues to provide exceptional educational opportunities to our children. My mission is to maintain the reputation of the Williamsville School District as one of the best in the country, while at the same time continuing to represent the community in a fiscally responsible manner.
