In accordance with the provisions of Title 23, U.S. Code, Section 128 and Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 1500 to 1508, the Department of Transportation will conduct an open forum public hearing for the intersection improvement project on US Route 62, Niagara Falls Boulevard, SH 5172 at Ridge Lea/Koenig Roads in the Towns of Tonawanda and Amherst, Erie County. Three alternatives will be presented. The project corridor extends from the intersection with Glenalby/ Romney Roads to the I-290. The information session will have displays and information stations staffed with Department representatives familiar with various aspects of the proposed project. During this session Department representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss the proposed project and its environmental, economic and social impacts. The formal meeting will include a presentation on the real estate acquisition process and a comment period to provide a forum for comments to be made and heard in public. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots have been issued will be maintained in the office of the District Clerk and made available for public inspection during regular office hours on each of the five days prior to the day of the vote. Such list will also be posted at the polling place at the Annual District Vote and Election of Members of the Board of Education. No absentee voter's ballot will be counted unless it is received in the office of the District Clerk by 5:00 PM on the day of the election (5/20/08).

Any qualified voter may file a written challenge to the qualifications of any person whose name appears on the list of absentee voters. Such challenge shall state the grounds for making such challenge and shall be submitted to the Inspector of Elections before the close of the polls.
