Amherst boys tennis faring well in ECIC Division III

Through seven ECIC Division III matches, the Amherst Central boys tennis team is 6-1 but most of their wins have been by 3-2 margins.

The Tigers' only league loss came to Pioneer, 4-1, on April 25 at Pioneer. Amherst rebounded last Thursday with a 3-2 win last Thursday at Amherst.

Freshman Craig Pruitt and senior captain Andrew Taube have won most of their matches at first and third singles.

Junior David Greetham and senior Arun Morace are starting to come into their own at first doubles. Kai Zhong and Steven Ronca are 2-1 at second doubles.

Amherst played at Williamsville South (7-0) on Tuesday in a showdown between the top two teams in ECIC III. The result was unavailable before The Bee went to press.
