Senior Travel Club sets two trips

The Amherst Senior Travel Club, an organization of the Amherst Center for Senior Services, is planning two getaways this fall.

The first is a 12-day, 11-night stay in Hawaii, Sept. 18-29. The Best of Four Islands will feature Oahu - Pearl Harbor, USS Arizona Memorial; Kona Coast - Volcanoes National Park; the "Valley Isle" of Maui - coastlines, jungles and mountains; and the "Garden Isle" of Kaui - valleys and waterfalls.

A river cruise, shopping, music, entertainment, and a traditional Hawaiian luau are included in the list of activities.

Price per person, double occupancy, is $2,495. This includes airfare.

The second is to Albuquerque, N.M., for the International Balloon Festival, Oct. 9-14, a six-day, five-night stay in the colorful Southwest.

This trip will include the Hot Air Balloon Grand Ascension, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Afterglow Fireworks Display, Acoma Pueblos, Albuquerque Old Town, Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway, Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, Museum of International Folk Art and San Miguel Mission Church.

The price per person, double occupancy, is $1,399 and includes airfare and motorcoach transportation.

Membership in the Amherst Senior Travel Club is open to all members of the Amherst Center for Senior Services.

Any Town of Amherst resident age 55 and older, or spouse of that resident, may join the Amherst Senior Center for a lifetime membership fee of $25.

Annual Travel Club membership is $7 for an individual and $10 for a couple. All Senior Center members are invited to Travel Club meetings, which are held at 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month.
