Buffalo In-Line Hockey Group action on display

Last Saturday was another example of the competitive play that exists in the Buffalo In-Line Hockey League.

Major Division

Snipers 8, Warriors 7

Evan Dressel (Amherst) scored with 3:15 remaining to give the Snipes the win. Pat Smith (Amherst) had a double hat trick for the Warriors.

Reds 10, Vikings 7

Taylor Setlock (Tonawanda) continued his fine play as he and Scott Sciolino led the Reds scoring with eight goals between them.

Blackhawks 10, Firestorm 9

Justin Swan and Adam Rainey led a furious third period comeback for the first place Hawks. Swan scored the game winner with two minutes left. Darrick LaViolett (Cheektowaga) had an outstanding game in the loss.

Stealth 9, Mulecats 8

(shootout)

Isaac DeMaio scored the only goal in the shootout to pace the Stealth to the win. Calvin Waley posted another solid game for the Mulecats in the loss.

Killer Pandas 8, Crush 5

A penalty filled game came down to netminder Jesse Van- Dyne (Kenmore) being the difference.

Junior Division

Capitals 9, Knights 1

Jimmy Basil (Amherst) earned co-player of the week honors for his outstanding play.

Maroons 4, Devils 2

A well-played game saw the Devils 2-0 first period lead evaporate. Tommy Adolf (Amherst) scored the game winner in the third period.

Orangemen 10, Penguins 0

Dave Milbrand led the way with five goals to earn a share of player of the week honors.

Sharks 10, Gladiators 6

Matt Dickinson (Tonawanda) has had a strong season and continued that effort with five goals and three assists to offset hat tricks by Nick Antoniadis (Amherst) and Ben Speyer (Clarence).

A regional tournament qualifier comes to the Pepsi Center May 2-4. This qualifier is one in a series of regional qualifiers through the U.S. and Canada. Teams qualify to then play in the Tournament of Roller Hockey Series National tournament.

The TORHS National is at the Pepsi Center in July. More than 2,000 players play in the TORHS National. Buffalo In-line Hockey Group has teams entered into this weekend's qualifying competition as do some other local in-line organizations.
