The S.P.C.A. Club, Special People Care for Animals of Heim Middle School, will host the Buffalo Animal Shelter's P.A.W.S. wagon for a pet adoption event.
This year's adoption times are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, to adopt cats, and from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, to adopt dogs, in the school's auditorium, 175 Heim Road.
During the adoption times, the P.A.W.S. wagon will be parked in front of the school. The S.P.C.A. Club members will be present to meet with attendees and care for the animals.
If a person is interested in adopting, he or she may go online to the Buffalo Animal Shelter's Web site, www.blocityshelter.petfinder.com, and print an application to be pre-approved. Applications will be available during adoption times as well.
The shelter is also seeking volunteers, and applications to sign up will be available. The shelter currently has 13 volunteers.
Donations are also needed, including cat and dog food, treats, cat litter, litter boxes, cat toys, blankets, towels and cleaning supplies. For a complete list, visit the Web site. Donations will be collected by S.P.C.A. Club members. Call 851-5694 for information.
