Garden Daze set for May 7

Kevin Guest House will present Garden Daze from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Ethan Allen Home Interiors, 3975 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.

The event is part of the second annual Ethan Allen Community Challenge, which could result in a $10,000 room makeover by Ethan Allen for the Kevin Guest House.

The makeover would transform one of Kevin Guest House's guest rooms into a cozy, warm retreat for guests. During May, the public can vote once a day for KGH by visiting the Ethan Allen store.

Garden Daze will kick off the monthlong voting. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served, and tours of the newly remodeled Ethan Allen store will be offered. The featured speaker for Garden Daze will be master gardener Sally Cunningham.

Admission to the event is the fixings for the public's favorite cocktail, for example, Grey Goose Vodka, vermouth, olives or favorite bottle of premium wine. All admission donations will be used to create silent auction baskets for the annual Affaire of the Heart, to be held Friday, Nov. 7, at Salvatore's Italian Gardens Restaurant.

Kevin Guest House, the nation's first hospital hospitality house, has welcomed more than 36,000 guests since opening in 1972.
