Lady Spartans win North Tonawanda tournament
      The Williamsville North softball team defeated Frontier, 5-2, on Saturday in the championship game of the 25th annual North Tonawanda Varsity Invitational Softball Tournament. The Lady Spartans qualified for the winner's bracket by defeating Mount St. Mary's and Kenmore West the previous weekend.

Sacred Heart's woes on offense continues
      Runs have been hard to come by for the Sacred Heart softball team and the trend continued last week. The Sharks beat Mount Mercy, 2-1, on Wednesday at Cazenovia Park but fell to Immaculata, 2-1 on Friday at Immaculata. Brieanna Brink scored on an error in the first inning against Mount Mercy.

      Despite only having 12 girls available, Williamsville South was able to place third at the Kenmore Track Invitational on Saturday at Crosby Field. The Lady Billies scored 60 points. Allie VanBuren won the 100 hurdles (15.94) and 400 hurdles (Western New York best 1:06.84).

      Whenever the Williamsville North and Clarence baseball teams clash, there's always a good chance it will be a good game. Last Friday's contest at Clarence was no exception.       James McHenry's goal with 3:45 remaining in regulation lifted the Sweet Home boys lacrosse team to an 8-7 win over Williamsville East last Wednesday at East. McHenry finished with three goals. The score was tied at 2-2 after the first quarter but Sweet Home took a 5-3 lead at halftime.
