Amherst Fusion wins indoor soccer championship

Emily Sugarman's goal off a throw from Madison Kather with 47 seconds remaining enabled the Amherst Fusion to beat the Northtown Nitros, 2-1, to win the U12 girls Epic indoor league title.
Tori Roetzer scored off a corner kick with six minutes remaining.
Tavia Allen, Amanda Woods and Alyssa Flaschner were solid on defense.
Rachel Myers, Emily Delnicki, Kather, Roetzer, Sarah Obletz, and Sugarman controlled the middle of the field. Aria Tung played great defense.
Natalie Niemel got MVP honors for holding the Nitros' best player to one shot on goal and semi breakaway.
Lauren Haase stopped several tough shots.
