North girls track sets new school marks Williamsville North's girls outdoor track team did not win any events at the WNY Officials Relays on Saturday at Erie Community College South Campus' Jim Ball Stadium but did set several school records. New school records fell in the varsity medley relay, distance medley relay and triathlon. The varsity distance medley relay team of junior Amy Loud, sophomore Whitney Barrett, senior Kim Schueler and junior Kim Berus placed second with a school-best time of 4:33.8. The old school record was 4:43.7. The distance medley relay team of sophomore Natalie Worley, Schueler, Berus and eighth-grader Rachel Dorogi took fifth in a school-best 13:49.7. The old record was 15:25. Senior Emily Curry shattered the school record for the triathlon (long jump, shot put, 400-meter dash) with 959 points. The old record was 657 held by Meghan Winkle. It was Barrett's first time high-jumping. Other solid finishes by the Lady Spartans came from the pole vault, freshman sprint medley relay and the 4x800 relay. Juniors Sarah Khan and Amanda Sheriff each cleared 7-0 for 14-0 in the pole vault and took third. The 4x800 relay of juniors Caitlin Triantafillou, Caitlin Curry, Lauren Triantafillou and eighth-grader Sarah Loud came in fourth with a time of 10:45.4. North faces Clarence at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Clarence and competes in the Kenmore Track and Field Invitational at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Crosby Field. Sweet Home girls The Lady Panthers also fared well at the WNY Officials Relays. Larri Phelps (14-4.25) and Rebecca White (15-6) won the long-jump relay. Katie Niblock placed second in the steeplechase with a time of 8:30. Colleen Kozlowski was fourth in 8:44.
