Lucian Anthony Mascellino, 86, of Amherst, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, after a brief illness.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Mascellino graduated from McKinley High School. He was in the Navy during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Mascellino worked as an engineer for Higgins Company for more than 45 years. He was a past lieutenant district governor for the Kiwanis Club, former member of Transit Valley Country Club, member of Engineers of America, former member of International Management Club and a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Mascellino enjoyed his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ida; daughters, Linda Berardo, Elaine Fantini and Maryanne Guest; brothers, Philip, Rudy and Anthony; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, April 22, at St. Gregory the Great Church.
