Johnson signs with Rutgers
Amherst native Holly Johnson signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her softball career in the Big East Conference with the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers.

Johnson has literally left her mark at every level she has played. She set the Amherst Central High School softball record for strikeouts in a game with 21 before transferring to the Culver Academies in Culver, Ind., where she set their mark with a 30-strikeout performance.
Johnson also holds the Indiana state record for most RBIs in a game with 11.
At the 2006 PONY Nationals, she was the winning pitcher of the National Championship game for the Amherst Lightning Gold and set the PONY record for no-hitters during the week-long event with three.
Johnson also holds every individual girls bowling record at Amherst and played volleyball.
Johnson plans on majoring in chemistry at Rutgers.
