Stopping for wings puts man in snooze mode

Friday, April 4
• Two houses on Crown Royal Drive had windows shot out during the night by a BB gun.
• A woman on Main Street complained that she was spit on.
• A man called from Kaymar Drive to report loud music, then put the dispatcher on hold while he checked on it. The man said never mind; it was his son jamming on a guitar.
• Someone reported a suspicious man wandering around on Sheridan Drive. No problem was found. He was just waiting for his shoes to be repaired.
Saturday, April 5
• A motorist passing Main Street and Getzville Road said a car drove off the road onto a lawn. The driver told police his brakes failed, and he had to hit the curb to avoid striking a vehicle.
• Police were called to Longmeadow Road where the complainant's daughter's boyfriend was refusing to leave. The girl and boy had left prior to patrol arrival.
• The same Longmeadow Road mother called back when the daughter returned, trying to break a window to get into the house. The daughter went to stay at a friend's house for the night.
• A loud boom was reported at a Burroughs Drive residence. After dismissing other possibilities, it was discovered that the noise came from a falling pineapple in the kitchen.
• A cab driver reported that he dropped off a man at a Millersport Highway apartment complex, and the man handed him a bank card while he went inside to get money. The man never came out and actually handed the cab driver an expired $25 gift card.
Sunday, April 6
• A Tonawanda Creek Road resident called police when she was awakened by a car with a loud muffler. The car was driving up and down the street.
• A car was "burning out" and "driving crazy" on Third Avenue while a female was screaming at a man.
• Police responded to Keph Drive where a car with its lights off was parked and running in the middle of the street. The man in the vehicle lives on the street. He had pulled over to finish eating his chicken wings and fell asleep.
• Larceny was reported by a pharmacy on Hopkins Road. The man was taken into custody by store employees, who took him to the break room. The man, who tried to run, was in possession of a bottle of Tylenol PM and a single can of beer.
Monday, April 7
• Police were called to a medical office on Sheridan Drive about a woman suspected of taking a 5-gallon drum of water.
• A duck was reportedly trapped in an empty pond on Dellwood Road.
• Police responded to a Maple Road hotel where a woman wanted to use her credit card to pay for another day on a room that was registered to a male guest, but she said she was too intoxicated to go down to the front desk. She was transported to police headquarters.
Tuesday, April 8
• Police were called about a Hartford Road resident who left garbage cans out all week, preventing people from parking on the street by his home, and if people did park there, he would come out and be abusive.
• A pit bull dug a hole, escaping from its Eggert Road home, and was chasing youths on Westfield Road.
• A Brookedge Drive resident had a problem with a neighbor cutting through her property to get to the golf course. She said it was occurring when she called.
Wednesday, April 9
• A man complained that the manager of a fast-food restaurant on Transit Road wouldn't give him back his coupons. He waited for police in the drive-through.
• A woman complained that a man yelled at her in a Sheridan Drive parking lot because she parked in a handicapped spot. He said she doesn't look handicapped. He left the area.
• A Patton Place resident reported that a painter took cabinet doors in September but has yet to return them. The complainant was advised that it is a civil matter.
• Police responded to a Main Street bank after a woman who works as a cleaner locked her 1-year-old son inside. They were assisted.
Thursday, April 10
• A raccoon reportedly bit a child on Autumnville Drive and was being chased by the family dog. The child was treated.
• A man with lots of bags was reportedly riding a bike in the middle of Main Street.
