Judith A. Nachbar, former gift shop owner

Judith A. Nachbar, 81, of Amherst, died Friday, April 4, 2008.

Mrs. Nachbar was born in Buffalo and graduated from Parker High School in Clarence. She attended the University of Buffalo, started working at AM&A's during the 1940s and married Robert Nachbar in 1950.

Mrs. Nachbar worked in real estate during the 1970s and at Pitt Petri for a short time. She owned and operated her own gift shop, Gift Haus of Handmades, in Williamsville during the 1980s.

She enjoyed knitting, quilting, china painting and camping with her family and was a longtime member of the Amherst Players.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, Mrs. Nachbar is survived by three sons, Robert Jr., Richard and Paul; daughter, Pauline; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held Saturday, April 19 at Christ United Methodist Church.
