Planetarium show set for April 21 More than 50 years ago, the space age began with the launch of Sputnik and thus started "The Great Space Race." Learn about the amazing achievements of both the United States and Union of Soviet Socialist Republics as they raced toward new frontiers in a new full-dome production on Monday, April 21, at Williamsville North High School's Planetarium, 1595 Hopkins Road. The event is also a joint meeting with the Hamburg Natural History Society, operator of the Penn Dixie Quarry in Hamburg. The HNHS will bring telescopes and fossil collections, and attendees can learn more about the quarry where people can dig for their own fossils. The activities begin at 6 p.m., with the planetarium shows at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. For information, visit www. williamsvillek12. org/ planetarium and click on "AstroHappenings." |
