Katherine A. Demakos of Amherst spent her spring break volunteering with Habitat for Humanity's Spring Break Challenge. A sophomore at St. Lawrence University, Demakos joined her fellow students in building a house with the Eastern Shore of Virginia Habitat for Humanity Chapter in Treherneville.

The Board of Directors of the InfraGard Buffalo Members Alliance recently named John W. Schunak as president. He is lead consultant and president at Quality Management Practices in Williamsville. Also, Donna Marie Kaputa was elected treasurer. She is a faculty member at Erie Community College's North Campus in Amherst.

The Fox Valley Women's Golf Association will kick off the 2008 season with a dinner Thursday, May 1. New officers are President Sharon Johnson, Vice President Pamela Gray and Secretary Debbie George, all of Williamsville, and Treasurer Kathy Voight of East Amherst. Other officers include Joan Boeheim of Williamsville and Donna Henrich of Tonawanda on weekly events, ringers and birdies and Nora Bender of Clarence Center on special events.

Foothills Trail Club held its 46th anniversary banquet and annual meeting on April 4 at Banchetti by Rizzo's Banquet Facility in Amherst. The club elected the following directors: Linda Parlato, Jacob Kern, Dale Waterman, David Kieber and David Potzler. Officers elected were: Coordinator Annette Brzezicki, Secretary Sally Castren of Williamsville and Treasurer Jim Beardsley. Members of Foothills Trail Club built and maintains the Conservation Trail.
