Museum to host quilt show

"Garden of Quilts," the Amherst Museum Quilters Guild Biennial Quilt Show, will be held from April 25-27 at the museum, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Road, corner of New Road, in Amherst.

This year's theme, "Garden of Quilts," reflects the many aspects of today's art of quilting. The show features more than 450 full-sized quilts, small quilts, wall hangings, wearable art and decorative pieces. A special exhibit of quilts by Fibre Design Forum is a highlight of the show.

The show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27. The show also includes a Merchant's Mall, a Member's Boutique, demonstrations and a fashion show.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, quilted items donated by guild members will be auctioned by celebrity auctioneers Mary Alice Demler and Kevin O'Neill. Proceeds from the auction will support the guild's educational programs. Call 689-1440 for membership and show information.
